We were lucky enough to find out about the many Metroparks around our area. These are parks that offer all kinds of activities. The activities are different at each park. We visited two parks this summer: Metro Beach and Stony Creek. Metro Beach Metropark is a huge place. There are docks for boats, a pool with water slides, mini golf, lake swimming, bike trails, etc. Stony Creek was more tranquil and in a more natural setting. It has lots of trails for biking and hiking and two beaches for swimming. You can also rent paddle boats and canoes there. The cost is only $4 per car and there is SO much to do. We will have to explore the other parks next summer.
